Ankylosaurus was a large armoured herbivore that lived towards the end of the Cretaceous period (about 70-65mya). It was completely covered in thick armour (even its eyelids!). It had a huge bone club at the end of its tail which was used to fend off predators such as T-Rex,which lived at the same time and in the same place. They also are dinosaurs that are mostly coverd with armor that is thick. Ankylosaurus adapted to land and water life, living in both. The hippopotamus probably learned from Ankylosaurus! Ankylosaurus ate lots of vegatation. That could've resulted in a large amount of gas!
It was a herbivore, so its food was the low-lying ferns on the Cretaceous floor. It was hunted by the mighty T-Rex, but it was able to defend itself. This is known because Tyrannosaurus Rex fossils have been found with fractures, usually caused by a crippling blow from a powerful Ankylosaurus tail club.
